Upcoming Week

Hi, everyone! The kids had a great week learning their vowel sounds and the different "c" sounds. We also have a fun-filled week coming up. We will start out with Christopher Columbus and the letter "E" and end with a trip to the pumpkin patch on Friday. Please send in $1 by Thursday, October 13, so that your child may select a pumpkin. We will also choose a class pumpkin to decorate. Please remember we are walking across the street to the pumpkin patch, so be sure to send your child in comfortable walking shoes. Have a great weekend!

Al the Alligator Loves Apples

Last week we worked on lots of exciting new things! We focused on the letter A, vowel sounds, and many fun "apple" and "alligator" themed crafts. We even graphed our favorite fruits and colors.

This week we are learning about the letter "C" and the different sounds it can make. We are continuing to practice writing and recongnizing our names and discussing the components of the calendar each day. I've been so excited and pleased about all the kids have learned in just three weeks! Look for our October calendars in their bookbags tomorrow.

Two Weeks In

Can you believe our third week of school begins tomorrow? The kids are doing very well! There are no more tears, and many new friendships are being forged. We are working hard during calendar time, which is when we practice our "Days of the Week" song and my personal favorite, the "Twelve Months in a Year Macarena." Your kids are great little singers and dancers!

We are also working on number and letter recongnition and building our fine motor skills by practicing cutting and tracing. Please work with your kids at home on the proper way to hold crayons (or pencils) and scissors as we prepare to delve into learning to write our names and cutting out the materials for our weekly crafts.

Don't forget that Tuesday, September 20 is Picture Day. Our class is scheduled for 9:40. Thank you again for sharing your kids with us each day!

A Great Preview Day

The Froggy Fours had a fantastic morning for our abbreviated class preview. The kids colored, played with toys, sang songs, listened to stories, and got to know their teachers and classmates a little bit. We have a great group of kids, and Ms. Hill and I are very excited about the upcoming year! Remember our first official day is Tuesday, September 6, beginning at 9:05 a.m. Carpool for the fours' classes is in the front parking lot of the church for drop-off and pick-up at 12:05. Thank you for sharing your little ones with us!  We hope you've had a great long weekend!

A Successful Open House

Thank you to all of the parents who attended tonight's open house! Tomorrow is our special abbreviated day to help the kids get acquainted with their teachers and classmates. Please remember there is no carpool tomorrow. You will need to walk your child in at 9:05, and come back to pick them up at 10:30. We will have a very laid-back and fun morning complete with coloring, story time, and free play. We appreciate your willingness to share your children with us! See you in the morning!
