Fire Safety Week

Last week was an exciting educational opportunity for the students to learn life-saving tips on fire safety.  Our lessons included practicing "stop, drop, and roll" and making two escape plans for getting out of our classroom in the event of a fire.  We hope you'll continue the dialogue by designing an escape plan at home.  Be sure to include a designated meeting place outside!  Here are some shots of our visit from the fire department.  Everyone had a chance to climb into the truck and listen to the siren as the trucks pulled away.  To quote one of our students, "That was awesome!"

This week we are discussing nocturnal animals.  Please feel free to send in any books related to bats, owls, or raccoons that we can share with the class. Today's book was Stellaluna, and tomorrow's book is Owl Moon
