Center Time

Today we had an exciting day learning how to transition from center to center.  This shift will take some getting used to for the kids, and Ms. Hill and I are working to help make it as seamless as possible.  We started our morning off with a little decorating.  Each student placed ten stickers on their name tags, which will be used for writing practice.  After a little free play, we practiced Calendar.  We sang our songs for the months of the year and the days of the week.  We actually dance the Macarena to our Months of the Year song, and we were impressed by our students' snazzy dance moves!

We worked at painting centers, magnet centers, Lego centers (a fantastic way to build fine motor skills while having fun), and a pom-pom center complete with giant tweezers.  After some letter practice, we had snack and headed outside for some fun.  The kids didn't let the heat deter them from running out their energy, and we love to see them having a great time.

Carpool is starting to run smoothly!  Please remember to utilize your carpool signs to help the teachers learn each of the vehicles.  We are cooking apple cinnamon muffins tomorrow in celebration of Give a Moose a Muffin, so be prepared for your little moose to come home wearing a nice new accessory (think antlers).  See you tomorrow!

P.S. Please be sure to send in your permission slips for the blog pictures so that we can begin posting shots of our day!
