Polar Bear, Polar Bear What Do You Hear?

In continuation of last week's theme Arctic Animals, today we read Polar Bear, Polar Bear What Do You Hear? by Bill Martin.  As we read we payed special attention to the order in which each animal appeared in the book.  Then the students colored and cut out animals which allowed them to recreate the sequence. The kids enjoyed recalling the order of the animals from the book.  We are also in the process of creating a classroom book modeled after Polar Bear, Polar Bear, which the students are very excited about.

The students also had fun engaging in centers first thing this morning.  They enjoyed stacking and creating structures with dominoes and cubes and had fun manipulating upper case letters, lower case letters, and numbers on the felt board.  The students also did a great job with the writing center which involved finding and writing words from ZooBooks magazines.

The kids were also SUPER excited that they were able to enjoy the new playground today
