Groundhog's day and more
On Thursday, we finished up our February calendars, our February placemats, and our Mitten activity. We also enjoyed a few centers in which we sharpened our letter and number recognition skills and honed our geometry skills.
Friday was all about the letter G and Groundhog's day. We discussed what Groundhog's day is and sang a cute song about a groundhog seeing his shadow. We even turned the lights off in the room and had a shadow hunt. Our circle time also included a discussion on the letter G and the sound it represents. Then we took turns coming up with words that begin with the letter G. Grapes, graves, green, goat, and go are a few words we came up with. After circle time, we rotated between three centers which included a Groundhog's day craft center, a letter G building activity, and a Mr. Potato Head center. It was an all around Great day!
