Today we celebrated Groundhog Day AND Steven's 5th birthday! We learned groundhogs live in underground homes called burrows and that one special groundhog tries to predict the weather each year. We are hoping the prediction for an early spring is accurate!

Happy birthday, Steven!

Landon was our leader during Calendar. He helped us with our sight words this morning. We currently have four sight words: today, is, the, and a. Many of the kids also recognize the days of the week by sight.
For our Centers, we used potatoes to make heart stencils. The kids chose colorful patterns to create a "love bug" that will be their snack placemat for the month of February.

We also colored and cut a "jellybean journal" that contained Jj words. The kids had to organize their books with the cover in the front and correctly sequenced page numbers. They did a great job!
Today is Thursday, so we got to enjoy our morning music with Ms. Caitlin! What a nice treat!
We finished our day with some cookies and Goldfish from Steven's mom and some time in the beautiful sunshine!
See you tomorrow!
