Today we imagined we were in an underwater adventure. We brainstormed all of the things we might see, and the kids put their faith in Mrs. Jones to draw well enough to show all of their ideas. This is the best she could do. The whale looks a little strange (and Ms. Hill thought the anemone looked like a puffer fish), but they were so impressed by the scuba diver that they gave their seal of approval.

Next the kids got to try their hands at drawing. Together we read a book about underwater life while they illustratedand each of the pages. We see some published work in their futures!

We also used glue to create "rain" for our umbrellas. We did this by making an exception to our "a dot is a lot" rule and using large globs of glue and drizzling them down the paper. Then we added blue craft sand to the glue.

Our favorite activity of the day was painting the invitations for Dessert With Daddy, which is coming up on Monday, March 5. We mixed sweetened condensed milk with food coloring to create a sticky but shiny paint concoction that gave our ties just the right pop of color. Here we are hard at work.

Sophia was our leader today. She helped us with the pledge and did a great job helping us with our sight word review.

She even took the time to help her friend Landon tie his shoes.

Overall, it was a great day! See you tomorrow!
