Today we talked about vehicles. The kids brainstormed as many types as they could, and their list was very impressive!

At our Center table, we stenciled motorcycles, airplanes, sailboats, scooters, and trains in primary colors.

We are also preparing for our 100 Day celebration on Friday. The kids are creating a fabulous 100 Day hats that will boast one hundred stamps and stickers. We made it to 50 today!

The kids also got to play with racecars (vroom!) and assemble a colorful fire engine floor puzzle. What a great day!

On a sidenote, many of you have seen your kids come home with stickers on their hands or shirts over the last week or so. This week we began our official sticker chart for the class. Once the students reach ten stickers, they will be able to choose a prize from the treasure box. Students earn stickers by using their helping hands during cleanup time, displaying kindness and consideration to their classmates, and exhibiting good behavior throughout the morning. Sometimes Ms. Hill and I will send a student to the calming chair to give him or her an opportunity to regroup. One trip to the calming chair will not result in the loss of a sticker, but two trips or a time-out will. The kids have done very well with this incentive this week. Our goal is to prepare them for the kindergarten class, where every teacher uses some form of a checks and balances system for behavior. Please feel free to call or email me if you have any questions or concerns. Here is our chart so far. You can see we have had great behavior from our guys and gals this week!
