Today we wrapped up our lesson on the letter Rr with some fun rainbow activities. We learned that although you cannot always see every color in the rainbow, they are still present. They sometimes just blend together. We used a coffee filter decorated in the color spectrum and a spray bottle to illustrate this concept. First the students saw the filter colored with every color in the ROY G BIV spectrum. When we sprayed the filter, the colors ran together so that not all were visible. Even though we couldn't see every color any more, we still knew they were there.
When we finished our science experiment, we got to work at a sensory center. We used shaving cream and glue to make clouds on our marshmallow rainbows. Then we cleaned the table with shaving cream (minus the glue, of course).
Chloe was our fearless leader on Friday. She did a wonderful job!
We capped our day off with snack and an activity we look forward to all week--Show and Tell! We do ask that your children try and pick only one item for Show and Tell in the coming weeks. Fitting in time to talk about multiple items has been challenging.
