Today was a great day! We put the finishing touches on our Cat in the Hat projects, wrote our last names on our March placemats, and got our Dessert with Daddy gifts ready for display. We also started our Rr unit, and we are focusing on a rainbow theme. Today we learned about Roy G. Biv, who lives inside the rainbow. We learned his name is an acronym for the spectrum of light visible in a rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet).

Our completed work. The kids were fantastic at
matching the color with the appropriate letter. |
When we moved to Center, we colored our own rainbows using the ROY G. BIV as a guide.

When we moved to our floor centers, we worked at the magnet station (quickly becoming one of the kids' favorites) and one of our counting stations. At this station the students pull cards with numbers on them out of their yellow baskets. Using a pair of kids size tweezers (very cute and colorful and GREAT for building fine motor skills), the boys and girls pick up the number of pom poms that matches and place them on the cards.

Our leader today was Hayden. He did a wonderful job leading the Pledge and helping the class review our sight words.
