Today we started our super crafty Wednesday with a little fun with glitter and shamrocks.
We also increased our pattern power by completing a St. Paddy's Day Patterns activity sheet. Everyone say "leprechaun, leprechaun, potato, leprechaun, leprechaun, potato! "
We created creepy, crawly spiders today, too! The kids mastered the art of crinkly legs.
The boys especially had a great time during free play today. Ms. Hill and I enjoyed watching their excitement and intensity as they built block forts and discovered secret hideouts for their action figures.
During Circle Time we learned about the differences between insects and arachnids. We classified our spider creations as arachnids, and I gladly obliged the students' requests for some funny renderings of various critters.
The snake is of course not an arachnid, but we listed him as one of the S critters we have discussed this week.
Grant was our leader today. He was very excited to lead us in the Pledge and to change our weather board to "sunny."
Today we also learned that St. Patrick's Day originated in Ireland. St. Patrick is famous for driving the snakes out of Ireland many years ago. We discussed the Irish flag and the many fun symbols of St. Patrick's Day. Tomorrow will be another fun day of learning! See you then!
